Cupcakes make me want to twirl.

This is Stella, my first born and my muse.  Whenever there is a dress to be tried on or a photo to be taken or a face to be painted, she is always there, working the camera, the dress, the character I have given her.  She is a living doll, full of sass and comedic timing.  She will probably rule the world one day or at least a large assembly of people.

Stella is wearing a labor of love..... It took much unpicking and hours of patience to get the fitted top and the full skirt.  It has paid off, this is one darn cute party frock.  I combined a 50's full skirt dress  (pictured) with a late 60's halter dress for the top (currently on loan to a friend).  The belt is taken from a vintage dress that I have cut up to over the years to use the sparkly pink fabric, and the tulle was added, coz we both love Grease!  And doesn't Stella work that tulle.

  1. How adorable! I love the fabric and the tuille!!! I just found your blog via Sew Retro and look forward to following your sewing adventures!

  2. Your daughter is just lovely! I love the dress, the tuille color, everything! And me and my 8 yrs old daughter love Grease too!

  3. Awwww, she looks so cute, and twirly skirts are fun!
